DREAM WAH
See it in action.
Everything a wah should do.
Nothing you have to stomp on.
A classic wah circuit, rebuilt as a plugin, with the movement handled for you.
The Circuit
Built on the resonant inductor circuit of the classic wah pedal, not a generic filter sweep. The vocal, singing character comes from the circuit itself.
Auto Wah
The sweep follows your picking dynamics. Play harder and it opens up, ease off and it closes.
Speed & Sync
Run the sweep free, or lock it to your host tempo from 1/1 down to 1/32, including dotted and triplet values. Or tap the tempo in.
Color & Drive
Four voicings take the wah from thin and sharp to fat and round. Drive pushes it into saturation, from clean to crunch.
Pedal, MIDI & Automation
Move it with the on-screen pedal, or use MIDI Learn for any expression pedal or mod wheel. Every control automates in your DAW.
Presets & Two Views
26 factory presets to start from. A simple view for playing and a tuning view for going deeper. Save your own presets any time.
Dry vs
Dream Wah
Every pair is level-matched, so what you hear is the plugin and nothing else.
Tap Dry or Dream Wah while it plays to switch instantly.
I wanted a wah plugin that is as good as the hardware, or better.
I have always loved the trippy wah sounds of the 60s and 70s. Every time I reached for a plugin, it fell short of the real thing. I never found one that was truly as good as the hardware.
After five years of building Beastsamples, I decided to make it myself. I own a big collection of wah pedals, the same ones I have used to record our samples and build our plugins, and Dream Wah is the plugin I always wanted to play.
That is where the name comes from. Yes, “dream” is a common word. It is still the right one.

Designed to work on it's own
A real wah needs a free foot, and in a session that is not always an option. Auto Foot listens to your picking and moves the wah for you.
Foot Sens sets how easily it reacts, Foot Pattern how far it swings and Foot Baseline where it rests. Prefer it rhythmic? Lock the Speed to your host tempo, or tap it in.

Built from the circuit up
Rather than a simple filter with a moving frequency, Dream Wah models the resonant circuit of a classic wah pedal, so the peak has the shape and the vocal bite of the real thing.
Heel Freq and Toe Freq set where the sweep starts and ends, Damp shapes the resonance, and Color picks one of four voicings, from thin and sharp to fat and round.
